Video Editing
Students use Vegas Video software to create videos using green screen technology. Check out some of the cool examples below.

This computer course will introduce you to the basics of Vegas Movie Studio. Use of audio/ video editing software such as this will allow you to generate a variety of original projects in middle school, high school, college, and future employment.
Objectives:
During the nine week course you will:
Supplies Needed:
1. Upon entering the classroom, log onto your computer and begin working. Projects last on average 7-10 days, so you will know what you are supposed to be doing.
2. When the teacher is introducing a new lesson, keep your hands off of the keyboard and listen closely so that the information does not need to be repeated over and over again.
3. At the end of class, log off of your computer, clean up all of your trash, and push chairs in when dismissed. Stay in your seat until the bell rings! Do not line up at the door.
Expectations:
Students are expected to behave maturely and take responsibility for their learning.
Consequences:
If students do not follow the above rules, the following disciplinary actions will occur:

- Detail a day in history through:
- Searching for information and images on the Internet
- Inserting and shortening photos
- Adding titles
- Adding video effects
- Adding audio and visual fades
- Inserting music
- Create a picture music video through:
- Searching for and saving images from the internet
- Inserting multiple photos
- Shortening and/ or lengthening photos to go along with music
- Cropping pictures to remove words or sections
- Adding titles
- Write and produce a short children’s storybook through:
- Writing a 15 page short children’s book
- Taking appropriate photos
- Inserting photos and backgrounds
- Adding transitions to create a sense of flow
- Using track motion to insert multiple photos into one frame
- Adding titles
- Inserting voice recordings
- Create a music video, infomercial or newscast through:
- Writing out a script planning what you are going to tape
- Videotaping and editing footage
- Adding video effects and text to further enhance the project
- Showcasing the skills that you have learned in the first several assignments

- Be on time and follow directions.
- Remain in your seat the entire period. Do not wander.
- Comply with code of conduct in student handbook.
- No passes will be given without a planner.
- Respect one another and classroom equipment.
- Do not go on the Internet unless you are instructed to do so.
- Cheating results in an automatic F and possible referral to the office.
Consequences:
If students do not follow the above rules, the following disciplinary actions will occur:
- 1st offense - Verbal warning
- 2nd offense – After school detention and/or contact with parent via phone call, conference, or e-mail.
- 3rd offense or severe behavior – Additional consequences and/or office referral.
Grades:
- Grades will be based on in-class assignments and projects. The grading scale in the student handbook will be used.
- Late assignments will not be accepted or will be handled on an individual basis.
